The acclaimed actor has unveiled the first look teaser of his upcoming biographical drama G.D.N., a cinematic tribute to the legendary inventor and industrialist Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu — often hailed as the Edison of India.
The teaser opens on a visually gripping note — a dimly lit workshop buzzing with innovation. A man works intently behind a welding mask, sparks flying around him. When he finally lifts the shield, we see Madhavan in a stunning transformation — aged, bespectacled, and nearly unrecognizable as the brilliant yet humble G.D. Naidu. The teaser captures both the intensity and the quiet determination of a man whose inventions redefined Indian industry.

Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, G.D.N. promises to chronicle the life of the self-taught genius from Coimbatore who engineered India’s first indigenous electric motor and introduced several groundbreaking innovations, including petrol engines, ticketing machines, and agricultural tools. The film aims to showcase not just his inventions, but also his relentless pursuit of progress in pre-independence India.
Produced by Varghese Moolan Pictures in collaboration with Madhavan’s own Tricolour Films — the same team behind the National Award-winning Rocketry: The Nambi Effect — G.D.N. is expected to be a stirring blend of history, science, and human spirit. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Priyamani, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu, with music composed by the talented Govind Vasantha, known for his soul-stirring scores.
Apart from G.D.N., Madhavan has a busy year ahead. He will be seen in De De Pyaar De 2, alongside Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, which is slated for release on November 14, 2025.
