Veteran Bollywood and television actor Satish Shah passed away on the afternoon of October 25 at 2:30 PM. He was 74 years old and had been battling kidney-related health issues. His manager confirmed that his body is currently at the hospital, and the last rites will be performed on October 26. His sudden demise has sent waves of grief through the entertainment industry.
Satish Shah began his career with the film 'Bhagwan Parshuram' and went on to appear in numerous films and TV shows. However, he became a household name with the iconic television show 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', where he played the role of Indravadhan Sarabhai (Indu). His impeccable comic timing, along with his on-screen chemistry with Ratna Pathak Shah, continues to be fondly remembered by audiences.
In 1984, he starred in the sitcom 'Ye Jo Hai Zindagi', where he portrayed 55 different characters across 55 episodes, showcasing his versatility. Later, in 1995, he appeared in the show 'Filmi Chakkar', playing the role of Prakash. Satish Shah's wide-ranging talent and humor made him one of television’s most beloved actors.
Born in Mandvi, Gujarat, Satish Shah completed his education at Xavier College and further trained at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He married designer Madhu Shah in 1972. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he had also battled the virus successfully.
