Ayushmann Khurrana was recently spotted at Mumbai’s iconic Siddhivinayak Temple, offering prayers and seeking blessings for his latest film Thamma, which released in theatres on October 21, 2025, coinciding with the Diwali festivities.
The actor appeared in a simple yet elegant kurta-pyjama ensemble, exuding a spiritual vibe that matched the occasion. Fans gathered in large numbers outside the temple, and Ayushmann took time to pose for pictures and click selfies with them, radiating humility and gratitude for the love pouring in for Thamma.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thamma is the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Known for blending spooky thrills with sharp humour, the franchise has now added another intriguing chapter to its lineup. This time, the story follows a journalist—played by Ayushmann—whose encounter with a mysterious woman sets off a strange transformation into a vampiric creature called Betal. As he wrestles with his own growing bloodlust, he also becomes humanity’s last hope against an ancient evil.
The film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal alongside Ayushmann, creating a strong ensemble that balances comedy, horror, and emotion. The screenplay is penned by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Falara, while the music has been composed by Sachin–Jigar, infusing the film with energy and cultural flavour.
Released in multiple formats including IMAX, 4DX, and D-Box, Thamma is designed to offer a full-blown cinematic experience, combining horror and humour with a dash of mythology and folklore.
Ayushmann’s temple visit comes at a time when the film is gaining traction among holiday audiences, and his presence at Siddhivinayak underscores the spiritual gratitude often felt by actors during high-stakes releases.
