Kareena Kapoor Khan, one of Bollywood's leading stars, is celebrating a significant milestone—25 years in the Hindi film industry. To mark this achievement, PVR INOX is organizing a special film festival in her honor. This multi-city festival will feature some of Kareena's most iconic performances, allowing audiences to experience her celebrated roles on the big screen once again.
This special festival was announced on Wednesday in Mumbai where Kareena Kapoor Khan spoke about her iconic films and roles.
Talking about her first collaboration with Hansal Mehta and the conscious decision to making the film in English and Hindi, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan said, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film because it's a film that we set out to do which would be very true to its ethnicity, and authenticity. We wanted to shoot the film in a small town in England and it was a story about that but the way Hansal wanted to shoot it, we were like we can't have people speak in Hindi, the people, the local people living there.”
“So, we said let's make a Hindi and English and an Hinglish film and let's stick to its truest form. So, somehow I just wanted to do it. I thought after like 25 years if it's not now to experiment and do something different, it's gonna be never and I've always actually tried to do that with films like Chameli and Dev very early on in my career" added Kareena.
The Buckingham Murders released in English and Hindi, and despite the film featuring Hinglish accents in its dialogues, the audiences are still embracing it. The film marks a unique collaboration between actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has stepped into a full-fledged intense suspense drama for the first time, director Hansal Mehta and producer Ektaa R Kapoor.
The festival's film schedule features Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met, Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Santosh Sivan's Asoka, Sudhir Mishra's Chameli, and Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara.
On the work front, Kareena will soon be seen in Singham Again.
