Amazon MGM Studios has just dropped the intense first teaser trailer for The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, a prequel spin-off to their hit action-thriller series The Terminal List. This time, the focus shifts from James Reece (Chris Pratt) to fan-favorite Ben Edwards, played once again by the ever-intense Taylor Kitsch — and it looks like we’re diving straight into the heart of darkness.
Set years before the events of the original series, Dark Wolf promises to trace Ben’s transformation from decorated Navy SEAL to CIA operative, peeling back layers of secrecy, betrayal, and moral ambiguity. The teaser hints at a globe-trotting espionage thriller steeped in covert missions, fractured loyalties, and a haunting sense of inevitability — especially for those who remember the shocking twist in the original show.
We see glimpses of high-stakes ops, dusty warzones, and shadowy backrooms — all slickly captured with the same gritty realism fans loved in The Terminal List. Kitsch brings a magnetic, haunted energy to Edwards — a man clearly at war not just with the enemy, but with his own conscience. His chemistry with Chris Pratt (who returns in a limited capacity) continues to simmer beneath the surface, suggesting deeper emotional and ideological rifts that will be explored as the story unfolds.
Joining the cast are Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, Dar Salim, Rona-Lee Shimon, Shiraz Tzarfati, Robert Wisdom, and Jared Shaw, the latter of whom also co-writes the show. The teaser shows flashes of brutal action, CIA black ops, and tight-lipped conspiracies — all the ingredients for a pulse-pounding, morally complex thriller.
Co-created and co-written by Jack Carr, the Navy SEAL-turned-author whose novels inspired the franchise, Dark Wolf also boasts writing from original showrunner David DiGilio, alongside a powerhouse team including Max Adams, Naomi Iizuka, Kenny Sheard, Hennah Sekander, and Shaw. Direction is split between action veterans Paul Cameron, Frederick E.O. Toye, and Liz Friedlander — ensuring the same high-gloss tension fans expect from the franchise.
If The Terminal List was about survival and vengeance, Dark Wolf seems to be about choices — the ones that push a man toward shadowy compromises, and the cost of carrying secrets that kill slowly. With its August 27, 2025 release date marked, this one’s gearing up to be a must-watch for fans of military thrillers and gritty character studies alike.
Suit up — Ben Edwards is ready to tell his side of the story. And it’s about to get dark.
