Prime Video has dropped the first look teaser for Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, a new documentary directed by acclaimed filmmaker Morgan Neville. Rather than revisiting the Beatles’ heyday, this film dives into what came next — McCartney’s personal and creative transformation after the band’s breakup.
The teaser, introduced with McCartney’s reflective line, “I thought — we should start from square one. It’s a puzzle I had to unravel,” sets the tone for an introspective journey through his post-Beatles years. Following the band’s split in 1970, McCartney, alongside his wife Linda, formed Wings, a group that went on to dominate 1970s rock with innovative sounds and heartfelt lyrics.
Through never-before-seen archival footage and rare home videos, Man on the Run promises to reveal McCartney’s quieter yet creatively vibrant chapter — the struggles, reinventions, and resilience that defined his evolution as both artist and husband. According to the film’s description, the documentary “captures Paul’s transformative post-Beatles era through a uniquely vulnerable lens,” offering fans a rare window into his most personal moments.
Directed by Morgan Neville — the Academy Award-winning documentarian behind 20 Feet from Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, and Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain — the film is backed by producers Chloe Simmons, Meghan Walsh, Scott Rodger, Ben Chappell, Michele Anthony, David Blackman, and Neville himself.
Paul McCartney: Man on the Run premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival and is set for a global release on Prime Video in February 2026. For Beatles fans and music lovers alike, this promises an emotionally rich exploration of how one man redefined fame, creativity, and life after the world’s greatest band.
