Actor Pratik Gandhi is commemorating a decade since his debut in the Gujarati film Bey Yaar with a special announcement: the film will be re-released in cinemas starting September 13. The celebration marks a significant milestone for Gandhi, who has since garnered widespread acclaim for his work.
In a heartfelt social media post, Pratik Gandhi shared the news with his followers, writing: “My first ever Gujarati film Bey Yaar is completing 10 years, and as a celebration, it’s getting re-released in theatres from 13th September. @cinemanabhishek @CinemanOfficial @divyangrt @samvednavb @AmitDesai1978 @nirenbhatt @SachinJigarLive @sachin1480”
The poster and promo shared by Gandhi highlight the film’s nostalgic charm and its enduring appeal. Bey Yaar, a coming-of-age Gujarati film directed by Abhishek Jain, originally hit theatres on August 29, 2014. The movie, centered around the theme of friendship, follows the lives of two childhood friends and explores the dynamics of their relationship over the years.
The film features an ensemble cast including Manoj Joshi, Darshan Jariwala, Divyang Thakkar, Amit Mistry, and Samvedna Suwalka. Bey Yaar was well-received upon its release, earning positive reviews and achieving box-office success. It notably completed 50 weeks in theatres and was even screened at the New York Indian Film Festival, making it the first Gujarati film to be featured at the festival.
As Pratik Gandhi looks back on the success of Bey Yaar, he is also gearing up for his next big project. He will soon appear in the biographical historical drama television series Gandhi, directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Applause Entertainment. The series, which explores the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, is set to be a major addition to Gandhi’s evolving portfolio, with three seasons planned for release.
