Get ready for a romance that’s turning up the heat and the hilarity—because the trailer for Maddock Films’ much-hyped Param Sundari is finally here, and it’s brimming with Punjabi swagger, Malayali calm, and just the right dose of cinematic chaos.
“Dilli ka munda Param is bringing full-on Punjabiyon ka swag aur siyappa to Sundari’s God’s Own Country!” That’s the tagline—and it delivers. Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film stars Sidharth Malhotra as Param, a loud, loveable Punjabi lad who crash-lands into Kerala and into the life (and heart?) of Janhvi Kapoor’s elegant Sundari. What follows? A clash of cultures, a storm of emotions, and—yes—a family dinner or two that could ignite international incidents.
The trailer teases high-energy comedy, vibrant backdrops, coconut trees galore, and some spicy banter (in both Hindi and Malayalam!). Think 2 States meets Chennai Express, but with Maddock’s signature indie-meets-mainstream charm. There’s also a solid supporting cast including Manjot Singh, Sanjay Kapoor, Renji Panicker, and the scene-stealing little Inayat Verma.
And let’s talk music: the soundtrack is stacked, featuring legends like Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, and Adnan Sami, with composers Sachin-Jigar clearly leaning into full Bollywood masala mode. From wedding tracks to emotional ballads, this album sounds like it’s designed to take over playlists and Instagram reels for weeks.
With a theatrical release set for August 29, Param Sundari is perfectly timed for that post-Independence Day, pre-festive season buzz. Romantic comedies have been MIA for a while—but with a cross-cultural twist, a sizzling lead pair, and Maddock's track record (Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, anyone?), this one could very well be the comeback the genre’s been waiting for.
So, are you Team Param or Team Sundari? Either way, this one’s a must-watch.
