Move over, Silicon Valley bros — there’s a new disruptor in town, and she’s armed with a swipe-left attitude. Hulu has officially released the trailer for Swiped, a sharp, stylish, and fiery biopic inspired by Whitney Wolfe Herd, the visionary founder of Bumble, and it's already buzzing.
Directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Unpregnant, Valley Girl), Swiped stars Lily James as Wolfe, portraying her meteoric rise from a Tinder co-founder ousted from her own creation to the bold architect of a feminist-forward dating app empire.
The trailer serves sass, startup chaos, boardroom battles, and an underdog spirit that feels both timely and timeless. We see Whitney take on a world where “boys run the algorithms” and “girls get the messages”, flipping the script with Bumble — where only women can make the first move. That’s not just innovation, it’s a revolution wrapped in yellow branding and backed by steel determination.
Joining Lily James is a standout cast including Clea DuVall, Dermot Mulroney, Dan Stevens, Myha'la, Pierson Fode, and Joely Fisher, with Goldenberg, Bill Parker, and Kim Caramele (Amy Schumer’s writing partner) penning the screenplay. Expect equal parts drama, humor, and a healthy middle finger to tech-world misogyny.
And yes, the film does touch on the controversy: her explosive exit from Tinder, the legal storm that followed, and the creation of not just Bumble, but also her legacy as the youngest self-made female billionaire.
Swiped lands on Hulu September 19th, 2025, just in time to stir the Emmy pot and reignite conversations around women, power, and how dating apps have shaped a generation.
It’s not just a biopic. It’s a statement — one swipe at a time.
