Shout Studios just dropped the intense and atmospheric first trailer for Killing Faith, a gritty western thriller that doubles as the feature directorial debut of Ned Crowley — and it’s as unnerving as it is unforgettable.

Set in the lawless summer of 1849, Killing Faith follows a grieving physician, played by Guy Pearce, who’s coerced into escorting a freed slave (DeWanda Wise) and her eerily silent daughter across dangerous terrain to reach a rumored Faith Healer. The catch? Every living thing the girl touches… dies.

Is she cursed? Possessed? Sick? The lines between science, superstition, and survival blur quickly in the brutal wilderness. As bodies fall and suspicions rise, Bill Pullman, Raoul Trujillo, and Jamie Neumann round out a supporting cast that adds weight and moral complexity to the journey.

The trailer pulses with hushed dread, wide dusty landscapes, and just enough cryptic dialogue to keep your skin crawling. There are religious undertones, psychological battles, and a growing sense that nothing — and no one — will leave this journey untouched.

Written by Ned Crowley and David Henri Martin, the story blends elements of spiritual horror, period drama, and survival western into a genre cocktail that feels part The Witch, part The Revenant, and part The Road.

With its October 3, 2025 release date, Killing Faith looks perfectly timed for awards-season buzz and Halloween chills — especially for fans of slow-burn suspense and morally complex storytelling.

One thing's for sure: this isn’t just a western. This is a reckoning.
