On the first anniversary of the record-breaking Stree 2, Maddock Films dropped a spine-chilling surprise this Independence Day — announcing #THAMA, a brand-new addition to the ever-growing Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe. The promo, posted on X, teased something bold, ominous, and completely fresh: "The World of Thama unveils Tuesday, Aug 19 — your first glimpse at the sarvashaktishaali villain set to redefine fear."
But this isn’t your typical horror-comedy.
While previous entries like Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya mixed laughs with scares, THAMA is set to take the franchise into darker, more intense territory. Billed as a “wilder and deadlier love story,” the film marks a tonal shift and promises a villain unlike anything fans have encountered so far. Director Aditya Sarpotdar has confirmed that Thama will break away from the comedic roots of the universe — indicating a genre evolution that could push the Maddock brand into new, cinematic territory.
Set to hit theatres this Diwali 2025, Thama drops its first look on August 19, just four days after Stree 2's anniversary celebrations.
