Hombale Films marked the milestone with a celebratory post calling it “a divine storm at the box office,” inviting fans to celebrate Deepavali with the blockbuster still running strong in theatres worldwide.
Written, directed, and led by Rishab Shetty, this prequel to the 2022 cultural phenomenon Kantara expands the mythos that first mesmerized audiences. Set in pre-colonial coastal Karnataka, the story unravels the deep origins of the Buta Kola ritual — a divine dance tradition that forms the spiritual heart of the Kantara universe.
