Get ready for mythology, mysticism, and mayhem—because Zee Studios just dropped the official trailer for their upcoming supernatural thriller Jatadhara, and it's nothing short of explosive. Slated for a theatrical release on November 7, 2025, the bilingual film (Telugu & Hindi) promises to blur the lines between faith and fear in a chilling tale steeped in temple legends, black magic, and ancient evil.

“The demon AWAKENS, the man REVOLTS,” teases the caption, setting the tone for a dark and intense showdown between good and evil.

Starring Sudheer Babu as a fierce ghost hunter and Sonakshi Sinha in a never-seen-before avatar as a pishachini (a vengeful female spirit from Hindu folklore), Jatadhara is directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Inspired by the legends surrounding the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, the story unfolds in a town cursed by its past, where rituals go wrong, greed awakens demonic forces, and one man is chosen to restore balance—or perish trying.

The 3-minute trailer dives headfirst into ritualistic horror, with scenes that include fire-soaked ceremonies, haunted temple corridors, ancient chants, and demonic possessions. Sonakshi’s eerie transformation, complete with blood-red eyes and serpentine movements, is easily one of the trailer’s biggest highlights. Meanwhile, Sudheer Babu’s character brings raw energy and gravitas to the screen, establishing him as both protector and seeker in this supernatural battlefield.

The film also features Divya Khossla (in a special appearance), Shilpa Shirodkar, Indira Krishna, Ravi Prakash, and a stellar ensemble including Rajeev Kanakala, Jhansi, and child actor Naga Chaitanya, among others. The visuals are fire-lit, mystic, and soaked in spiritual dread—perfect for lovers of high-stakes horror with a mythological twist.

Produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal, and Nikhil Nanda, with co-producers Akshay Kejriwal and Kussum Arora, and Divya Vijay as the creative producer, Jatadhara is shaping up to be a big-screen spectacle with substance. With haunting music by Shor Police, ritualistic tension, and a face-off between light and the darkest corners of the supernatural, Jatadhara could very well be the mytho-thriller India’s genre fans have been waiting for.
