Bollywood stalwart Vivek Oberoi is gearing up to don the uniform of a police officer in Rohit Shetty's highly anticipated debut OTT series, 'Indian Police Force.' The actor, along with co-stars Shilpa Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra, recently shared insights into the unique experience of working on the cop drama. Vivek Oberoi particularly emphasized the palpable sense of patriotism that envelops the set when collaborating with Rohit Shetty.
In a candid conversation about his role in 'Indian Police Force,' Vivek Oberoi expressed admiration for Rohit Shetty's deep understanding and appreciation for the Indian Police Force. He went on to suggest that Shetty deserves an honorary title for his commitment to representing the police force authentically. According to Oberoi, being on Shetty's set evokes a profound sense of purpose and patriotism.
"When it is a cop universe story, I feel Rohit should be called Doctor Rohit. He should have an honorate granted to him. The kind of insights he has about the Indian Police Force is because of the amount of time he spends with them. He feels for the cops. His love for uniform and appreciation for the cops is represented through his work. You feel a sense of purpose and patriotism when you are on Rohit Shetty's set," Oberoi remarked.
Vivek Oberoi delved into his character, IG Vikram Bakshi, in 'Indian Police Force.' He described Bakshi as a representation of the human side of police personnel, navigating the delicate balance between family values and the responsibilities of a senior officer. Oberoi highlighted the camaraderie between Bakshi and Sidharth Malhotra's character, Kabir, emphasizing the brotherly dynamic that adds depth to his role.
"I play the role of IG Vikram Bakshi, and he represents the human side of the police personnel, how he maintains a balance between family values, being a senior officer, and playing a brother-like figure to Sidharth's character Kabir is what I love the most about this role," shared Oberoi.
Created and directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash, 'Indian Police Force' is a police procedural action thriller streaming series on Amazon Prime Video. Produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez and Reliance Entertainment, the show is set in Shetty's fictional Cop Universe. Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty, the series promises an immersive experience and is set to start streaming from January 19, 2024.
