The Ramayana teaser is officially viral. Dropped just yesterday, the introductory glimpse into India’s most ambitious mythological film has already garnered 5.8 million views within 24 hours, setting social media ablaze and sending fan excitement into overdrive. With the tagline “Welcome to the Beginning”, the teaser signals the start of an epic cinematic journey that blends devotion, drama, and visual spectacle.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the visionary behind Dangal and Chhichhore, Ramayana is being mounted on a global scale. Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Monster Mind Creations—helmed by none other than Yash, who also stars as Ravana—the film promises to bring the immortal story of Rama v/s Ravana to screens with “the greatest amount of reverence and respect.”
The film features an all-star cast with Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol in a powerful turn as Hanuman. With a dual release planned—Part 1 on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027—the project is being filmed for IMAX, aiming to offer audiences a larger-than-life cinematic experience.
Backing the visual grandeur is DNEG, the eight-time Oscar-winning VFX studio known for its work on Inception, Interstellar, and Dune. The story has been written by Shridhar Raghavan, and music is in the legendary hands of Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with lyrics by poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas.
Ramayana isn’t just another mythological adaptation—it’s shaping up to be a defining moment in global cinema. And if the teaser’s explosive reach is any indication, this could be the most talked-about epic of the decade.
