Nitesh Tiwari finally unveiled the much-awaited first glimpse of his ambitious mythological epic Ramayana yesterday, and it has taken the internet by storm. From grand visuals to a stellar cast, the teaser has left audiences awestruck. Fans are calling it a visual masterpiece, and the buzz around the film is louder than ever. While Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Ram and Yash’s fierce look as Ravana are stealing headlines, one name that pleasantly surprised everyone is Ravi Dubey, who is stepping into the role of Lakshman.
Adding to the emotional weight of the moment, Ravi’s wife and actress-producer Sargun Mehta took to Instagram to share her pride and excitement. She reposted the teaser and penned a deeply touching note: “2026 ki diwali ka intezaar meri zindagi ka sabse lamba intezaar hoga. My heart is so so full. Every time I see the teaser, read the names on the poster, my heart swells with love and gratitude. Shukar shukar shukar. JAI SHRI RAM. OM NAMAH SHIVAY.”
For Ravi Dubey, who has already built a stellar reputation on television, Ramayana marks a monumental step into big-league Bollywood. He has been vocal in the past about choosing the right script for his film debut, and with this, it seems the wait was well worth it. Playing Lakshman in a magnum opus that carries immense cultural and cinematic significance is no small feat, and fans are already excited to see his transformation on the big screen.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana boasts a legendary ensemble: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and now Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. It is planned as a two-part release, with Part 1 hitting theatres on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following on Diwali 2027.
With emotions running high and expectations even higher, Ramayana is shaping up to be more than just a film—it’s a cinematic celebration of history, faith, and storytelling. And for Ravi and Sargun, this is a milestone they’ll cherish forever.
