Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has shared her appreciation for Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, following the announcement of his directorial debut. Despite being known for her outspoken views on Bollywood’s nepotism debate, Ranaut took to her Instagram to offer encouragement and praise for Aryan, highlighting the importance of new voices behind the camera in the Indian film industry.
In her Instagram story, Kangana wrote, “It is great that children from film families are going beyond just wanting to wear makeup, lose weight, doll up and think they are actors. We should collectively uplift the standards of Indian cinema, that is the need of the hour, and those who have resources often end up taking easiest roads.”
She continued, acknowledging Aryan Khan’s choice to take a different route, adding, “We need more people behind the cameras, good that Aryan Khan is taking the road less travelled. Look forward to his debut as a writer and filmmaker.” Kangana’s praise for Aryan’s venture into filmmaking shows her recognition of the evolving narrative in Bollywood where star children are opting to work in different creative fields.
On the professional front, Kangana is gearing up for the release of her directorial debut Emergency, a biographical political drama where she plays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also features an ensemble cast, including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Emergency is slated to release on January 17, 2025, marking another milestone in Kangana’s already versatile career.
