Veteran actor Jackie Shroff recently opened up about his deeply moving experience working on the upcoming film Tanvi The Great during the trailer launch event. Playing the role of Brigadier Joshi, Jackie described the film as more than just a project—it was a “total soul cleansing” journey that touched him profoundly.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude towards Anupam Kher, who not only cast him but also directed the film, Jackie revealed an emotional moment that struck him the first time he heard the film’s music. “When Anupam Kher called me and I got to hear the song composed by M.M. Keeravani, we cried a lot. I don’t cry often, and usually only on my pillow,” Jackie admitted. The powerful music and poignant story clearly resonated deeply with him, creating a truly special connection.
Jackie also praised Anupam Kher’s dedication and generosity as both actor and director. “Anupam took great care of me on set. I am not from any acting school, but being with him, I learned so much—little nuances and elements of the craft that I hadn’t even thought about before. Anyone wanting to learn acting should watch and learn from Anupam because he is a beautiful actor and a brilliant director,” he shared warmly.
The film, which tells the inspiring story of Tanvi Raina, a young woman with autism determined to fulfill her late father’s dream of saluting the Indian flag at Siachen Glacier, features an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Shubhangi Dutt, Boman Irani, Arvind Swami, and many others. Slated for release on July 18, 2025, Tanvi The Great promises to be a heartfelt and soul-stirring cinematic experience—and judging by Jackie Shroff’s words, it’s a film that will leave a lasting impact on audiences.
