As the nation prepares to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of Rezang La, the team behind the upcoming war epic 120 Bahadur has paid a moving tribute to the brave soldiers of the 13th Battalion, Kumaon Regiment. In a special ceremony held in New Delhi, Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh unveiled a customised ‘My Stamp’, celebrating the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the men who fought one of India’s most heroic battles during the 1962 India-China war.
The event saw the presence of Farhan Akhtar, who portrays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, in the film — a role inspired by the real-life war hero who led his men with unflinching courage at Rezang La. Joining him were Director Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Amit Chandrra, and Arhan Bagati, alongside Jitendra Gupta, Director General Postal Services.
Taking to social media, Farhan shared his pride and gratitude through a heartfelt post. He wrote, “What better way to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our martyred soldiers? Today, the Indian Postal Service commemorated the Battle of Rezang La by issuing a new My Stamp in its memory. Thank you to the Hon. Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh ji, for making time to do the inauguration. We are extremely grateful. 🙏🏽”
The actor also shared images from the launch, featuring Rajnath Singh unveiling the commemorative stamp a poignant symbol of national remembrance and cinematic homage. The customised My Stamp pays tribute to the Rezang La War Memorial, located in Chushul, Ladakh, where the names of the fallen heroes of the 13th Kumaon Regiment are inscribed in stone. The memorial stands as an eternal reminder of their unmatched courage soldiers who, against overwhelming odds, defended their post till the last man, the last bullet, the last breath.
120 Bahadur tells the untold story of the 120 soldiers led by Major Shaitan Singh, who displayed unparalleled heroism in sub-zero temperatures at Rezang La in 1962.
