In a year packed with star-driven spectacles and franchise fatigue, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat (EDKD) has emerged as the ultimate dark horse. Against all odds and expectations, the Milap Zaveri-directed drama has found itself at the heart of a box office fairytale — and audiences can’t seem to get enough.
After a surprising yet solid start, the film held its ground remarkably well on Day 2. With 10.10 crore on Tuesday and 8.88 crore on Wednesday, EDKD has clocked in a strong 18.98 crore in just two days across India. Not bad for a film made on a 25 crore budget (excluding P&A).
What’s driving this momentum? The answer lies beyond the metros. Tier-2 and Tier-3 centers have embraced EDKD with rare intensity — a testament to its raw emotional core, fiery dialogues, and crowd-pleasing soundtrack that’s already topping music charts. Youth audiences, in particular, seem connected to the film’s blend of passion, heartbreak, and redemption.
For director Milap Zaveri and lead star Harshvardhan Rane, this success feels almost poetic. Both had seen quieter phases in recent years, but Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat marks a powerful comeback — proof that genuine emotional storytelling still has a place in mainstream cinema.
If EDKD continues this pace, it could easily turn into one of 2025’s most unexpected success stories. Sometimes, all it takes is one passionate storyteller and one devoted “deewana” to remind audiences why they fell in love with cinema in the first place.
