The series is set in a fictional hospital, where third-year resident Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald) is unexpectedly thrust into a major role when her beloved Chief Resident, Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell), is suddenly suspended. With a hurricane barreling towards the city, the chaos inside Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center intensifies, leaving Danny and Dr. Phillips to navigate a storm—both literal and personal.
As the hospital goes into lockdown, trauma cases pile up, and Danny and Phillips must work together despite the complicated and explosive details of their illicit romance beginning to surface.
