She started out on television, rising to prominence with the popular soap opera Kumkum Bhagya before foraying into Marathi cinema through movies like Vitti Dandu (2014) and Surajya (2014).
In 2018, Mrunal appeared in the titular role in the film Love Sonia, which followed the story of a young girl`s quest to save her sister from the vicious world of sex trafficking. The acclaimed film, which was directed by Tabrez Noorani, also co-starred Freida Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass and Anupam Kher.
