Awards : Ayushmann Khurrana is an Indian actor, poet, singer, and television host. He has established a career in Hindi cinema and is the recipient of several awards, including a National Film Award and four Filmfare Awards.
Ayushmann Khurrana won the second season of reality television show MTV Roadies in 2004 and ventured into an anchoring career. He made his film debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy Vicky Donor. His performance earned him several accolades including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Following a brief setback, he starred in the commercially and critically successful romance Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Ayushmann Khurrana went on to establish himself with the comedies Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), and Badhaai Ho (2018), and the thriller Andhadhun (2018).
In addition to acting, Ayushmann Khurrana has sung for all his films, including the song "Pani Da Rang", which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.

His first big break in showbiz came when he won the second season of the reality show MTV Roadies at the age of 20. Early life
Born and brought up in Chandigarh, Ayushmann Khurrana holds a master`s degree in Mass Communication from the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University. He did theater for five years and was a founding member of DAV College`s "Aaghaaz" and "Manchtantra" both active theater groups. He has directed and won several awards in popular fests like Mood Indigo (IIT Bombay), Oasis (Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani) and St. Bedes Simla.
Personal life
Ayushmann Khurrana married Tahira Kashyap in 2011. He met his wife when they were in high school. Their parents were family friends. They studied and pursued their master`s degree in Mass Communication at PU and together they have two children, a son Virajveer Khurrana (2 January 2012) and a daughter called Varushka Khurrana (born 21 April 2014). Tahira Kashyap is an author and a lecturer in Mumbai.
He changed the spelling of his name by adding an additional `n` and `r` for better luck in the film industry.
Ayushmann Khurrana`s father, Mr. P Khurrana, is an astrologer and has written several books on astrology which are published by major production houses in the country. His mother, Poonam Khurrana, is a housewife. His brother Aparshakti worked as a radio jockey and a TV anchor at OYE 104.8 FM in Delhi and made his debut with movie Dangal.
Television Career
Starting at a younger age of 17, Ayushmann got noticed on channel V reality show. He later went on to take part in Roadies season 2, a popular reality show based on road trips which opened up several avenues for him after he won the competition. He was 20 at that time. His first job was working as a radio jockey at BIG FM, Delhi. Ayushmann Khurrana started winning awards pretty early in his career. He won the Young Achievers Award in 2007 for hosting the show Big Chai - Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann. He also received the Bharat Nirman Award and was considered as one of the youngest recipients. His television stint went on with several series targeted at youth, one of them was, Pepsi MTV Wassup, The Voice of Youngistaan, an informative show for the young. His collaboration with MTV continued with multiple shows like MTV Fully Faltoo Movies, Cheque De India, and Jaadoo Ek Baar. Later he went on to host talent-based reality shows like India`s Got Talent and Stripped. Ayushmann has been part of Extra Innings T20 for Indian Premier League Season 3 on SET Max which he co-hosted with Gaurav Kapur, Samir Kochhar, and Angad Bedi.
Movie Career
Ayushmann Khurrana started his career by becoming one of the most popular VJs in the country and eventually progressed to become a film actor in mainstream movies. His first movie in the year 2012 called Vicky Donor which received critical acclaim and commercial success. The movie was produced by John Abraham who also debuted as a producer. The romantic comedy was made by Shoojit Sircar which went on to become one of the best movies of the year. It was about Vicky Arora working as a sperm donor and his relationship with his girlfriend, a Bengali women played by Yami Gautam.
He also sang the song "Pani Da Rang" for the film which was an immediate blockbuster that got him rave reviews and garnered him multiple awards at several prestigious award functions. The song was composed of Rochak Kohli and him. He also won the best debutant for Vicky Donor. Trade analysts agree that Khurrana is completely natural and is a pro at both the comedy and emotional scenes.
His next outing as the main lead was Rohan Sippy`s Nautanki Saala,a 2013 film which he co-starred with Pooja Salvi, Kunal Roy Kapoor, and Evelyn Sharma. It generated positive reviews from critics with Taran Adarsh, a Trade analyst saying the film was, "uncontaminated, witty and amusing". A moderate success, it fared well at the box office.
Later he signed a movie with Yash Raj Films in 2014 with Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor in the leads. It was directed by Nupur Asthana. He also sang in the movie for the song "Khamkhaan" with Neeti Mohan. While the movie received mixed reviews, his performance was lauded by critics for his portrayal of an angsty frustrated youth. The movie was about his relationship with his girlfriend, played by Sonam Kapoor and her father played by Rishi Kapoor.
In a movie titled Hawaizaada which was earlier titled `Bambai Fairytale`, Khurrana played a scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade, alongside Mithun Chakraborthy. The movie failed to connect with the audience which was directed by Vibhu Puri. It was released in the year 2015.
In the same year, 2015, he starred in Dum Laga Ke Haisha, a romantic comedy film directed by Sharat Katariya which went on to cement his position as a promising actor. A box office success, the movie generated a lot of positive reviews for a strong storyline and acting of Khurrana which was considered to be restrained yet believable. Modestly budgeted at rupees 90 million, the movie collected rupees 301.9 million in its five weeks. The film also had Bhumi Pednekar debuting. The movie won several awards including a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. He won nominations in the critic`s category for several award functions conducted in the year.
In 2017, after a two-year gap from the silver screen, the actor appeared in the Hindi romance dramas like Meri Pyaari Bindu, followed by Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Savdhan, which were critically and commercially successful. Later, he starred in crime-drama Andhadhun in 2018. The film, starring Tabu and Radhika Apte, was a commercial and critical success and became the highest grosser of the actor`s career. Following that year, he was seen in the coming-of-age family-drama Badhaai Ho, where he played the role of an elder son of an elderly couple is expecting a child in their late 40s. The film received a positive review and earned impressive box-office numbers. His other projects include Article 15, Dream Girl and Bala and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. His 2020 release includes Gulabo Sitabo. His other releases include Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), Anek (2022), Doctor G (2022), An Action Hero (2023) and Dream Girl 2.
