Early Life
Born in Ambala, Haryana to Pawan Chopra, a businessman, and Reena Chopra, a homemaker, Parineeti wanted to become an investment banker since a very young age. After shifting to London, at the age of 17, Parineeti received a triple honors degree in business, finance, and economics from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom. Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti`s first cousin and also a Bollywood star, introduced her to Yash Raj Films` public relation department, where she interned before getting into films. Parineeti never wanted to become an actor and didn`t understand the nuances of being in the fraternity. Her outlook changed greatly after she saw her sister in 7 Khoon Maaf, and got inspired to become an actress.
Movie Career
Parineeti Chopra broke into the industry in 2011 with the Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma starrer rom-com Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. Parineeti, who was cast in a supporting role, alongside Dipannita Sharma, and Aditi Sharma, bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for essaying Dimple Chaddha, a Delhi girl, conned by Ranveer Singh.
Post her successful debut, she was signed by Yash Raj to play the lead opposite debutant Arjun Kapoor in Habib Faisal`s romantic drama Ishaqzaade (2012), based on Shakespeare`s Romeo and Juliet.
