Born into two royal lineages, Aditi Rao Hydari is an Indian movie actress who is best known for her work in the Hindi film industry. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, Aditi made her acting debut with the 2006 Malayalam action thriller Prajapathi opposite the stalwart of Malayalam cinema, Mammootty. She then went on to appear in movies like Delhi 6, Yeh Saali Zindagi, Murder 3, Boss, Khoobsurat, and Kaatru Veliyidai.
EARLY LIFE
Aditi was born to Ehsaan Hydari and his wife Vidya Rao on the 28th of October, 1986 in the then Hyderabad now Telangana. Aditi`s father Ehsaan Hydari, passed away in 2013 due to lung cancer. He was the son Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, the last British-appointed and the first Indian governor of the Indian state of Assam, while her mother Vidya Rao, a popular Hindustani classical singer, hails from the family of Raja of Wanaparthy. After her parents separated when she was only two years old, Aditi moved to Delhi with her mother, who raised her as a single mother.
Aditi studied in Rishi Valley School, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, after which she graduated from Delhi University`s Lady Shri Ram College for Women. While she was still studying in school, Aditi began training in Bharatanatyam under acclaimed dancer Leela Samson since the age of six.
PERSONAL LIFE
Aditi met lawyer-turned-actor Satyadeep Mishra, who was seen in movies like Love Breakups Zindagi, No One Killed Jessica, and Bombay Velvet, when she was 17-years-old. The two began dating and were married in 2009, when Aditi was 21. However, four years later, in 2013, the two separated. After her split from Satyadeep, Aditi was linked to her co-stars Arunoday Singh and Farhan Akhtar, however, nothing was confirmed.
MOVIE CAREER
Aditi made her acting debut in 2006 opposite superstar Mammootty in the action thriller Prajapathi, following which she made her Tamil movie debut in the 2007 period drama Sringaram, which saw her play the role of a Bharatanatyam dancer. The movie became a commercial and critical success, winning as many as three National Film Awards. Although she shot for Sringaram before Prajapathi, since Prajapathi released before Srinagaram, it became her debut.
Seen in a supporting role, Aditi was roped in by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in his 2009 drama Delhi-6, marking her Bollywood debut. The movie, starring Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead, went on to become a critical hit, winning the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration at the 57th National Film Awards. However, she only gained recognition for her work in the 2011 romantic thriller Yeh Saali Zindagi, which co-starred Irrfan Khan, Chitrangada Singh, and Arunoday Singh. The movie was met with a lukewarm response at the box office but received critical acclaim. She was then seen playing the role of a reporter in Imtiaz Ali`s highly acclaimed romantic drama Rockstar in 2011. The movie opened to mixed reviews, but was declared a commercial hit.
Next, she was cast alongside Randeep Hooda and Sara Loren in Vishesh Bhatt`s psychological thriller Murder 3, which was the official remake of the thriller The Hidden Face. The movie opened to mixed, mainly positive reviews, with critics stating, "Murder 3 is one of the finest thrillers to come out of Vishesh Films." She was then seen in the Akshay Kumar-starrer action masala, Boss, where she was paired opposite Shiv Pandit. The movie, the Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie Pokkiri Raja, opened to mixed reviews and was an average grosser at the box office. She was seen in a supporting role in Disney`s Khoobsurat, playing the role of a royal princess, Kiara and was cast alongside Fawad Khan and Sonam Kapoor.
Aditi then shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in the crime thriller Wazir, which was met with mixed reviews but was a commercial success. Playing the role of Tabu`s character`s younger self, Aditi was seen in Abhishek Kapoor`s 2016 romantic drama Fitoor. Her other projects include Sudhir Mishra`s Aur Devdas, where she plays the role of Chandramukhi, the Tamil romantic thriller Kaatru Veliyidai, co-starring Karthi, the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Bhoomi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s period drama Padmavati, Daas Dev (2018), Sammohanam (2018), and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (2018). Her 2018 projects also include Rayabhari, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, and Antariksham 9000KMPH. Her 2020 venturs includes Sufiyum Sujathayum.
