Actor Sooraj Pancholi, who is returning to the big screen with Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath, spoke emotionally at the trailer launch about his personal journey, his time away from films, and the meaningful connection he shares with this project.
Slated to release on May 16, Kesari Veer tells the story of Hamirji Gohil, a forgotten warrior who laid down his life defending the Somnath Temple from invaders in the 14th century. Sooraj plays the lead role in this historical epic alongside Suniel Shetty and Akanksha Sharma.
At the event, Sooraj shared how the film first came to him—and how deeply it touched him from the beginning:“This is a very special film for all of us. We've all worked very hard."
Sooraj also opened up about the challenges he faced in his personal life, which kept him away from the spotlight: “Life has been the reason for my absence. A lot of things had to be cleared out of my life—and everyone knows what I’m referring to. My mom always tells me, ‘Good things take time.’ And honestly, I was just waiting for the right film. I couldn’t have asked for a better comeback than Kesari Veer.”
He spoke about finding strength through his family and focusing on his mental and physical health during his time away: “I have a clean heart, and the people who know me know that. I’ve always had a strong support system—my mother and my sister have always stood by me .People think I go to the gym for the physique—but it’s actually for my mind. Fitness has helped keep my brain strong and focused. There’s still a long way to go. But if I’ve endured this much already, I can endure even more.”
