Sony Classics drops the second trailer for comedy titled Wicked Little Letters, helmed by Thea Sharrock.
The film revolves around Edith of Littlehampton, who begin to receive letters full of hilariously harsh profanities, and rowdy Irish migrant Rose is charged with the crime. Suspecting something is amiss, the town's women investigate.
The film stars Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Timothy Spall, Gemma Jones, Lolly Adefope, and Anjana Vasan.
Set in 1920s English seaside town bears witness to a dark and absurd scandal in this riotous mystery comedy. Based on a stranger than fiction true story, the film follows two neighbours: deeply conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and her fellow residents begin to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime.
The sweary anonymous letters quickly prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town's women - led by Police Officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) - begin to investigate the crime themselves, they come to suspect that something is amiss, and Rose may not be the culprit after all.
The screenplay is written by Jonny Sweet. The film is slated for 29th March 2024 release.
