The 19th edition of the WAVES Film Bazaar is gearing up to return with renewed energy and an impressive global footprint. Scheduled from November 20 to 24, 2025, at the Marriott Resort in Goa, the event will run alongside the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). This year’s highlight is a revitalized Co-Production Market designed to connect filmmakers with financiers, festival programmers, and producers from around the world.
With 22 feature film projects curated for international visibility, the lineup reflects a truly global narrative spectrum. These stories come from India, France, the UK, Canada, the USA, Russia, the Philippines, and Singapore—showcasing a cultural range that spans languages from Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, and Konkani to Russian, Sanskrit, and Odia. The diversity underscores WAVES Film Bazaar’s growing reputation as a melting pot for cross-border storytelling.
Participating filmmakers will gain a unique platform through the Open Pitch session, where they will present their projects directly to decision-makers shaping the future of cinema. These sessions not only introduce filmmakers to potential collaborators but also lay the foundation for in-depth one-on-one meetings. The initiative is designed to nurture long-term partnerships and foster impactful film development.
Documentaries form another vital pillar of this edition’s Co-Production Market, with five standout projects selected for their thematic depth and fresh perspectives. Spanning genres such as arts, environment, sustainability, women’s movements, culture, and anthropology, these non-fiction works highlight the growing appetite for stories that spark dialogue and social reflection. The mix of emerging filmmakers and seasoned artists—including notable names like Kiran Rao, Vikramaditya Motwane, Shakun Batra, Devashish Makhija, Ira Dubey, Sarita Patil, Shaunak Sen, and BAFTA winner Ben Crichton—adds gravitas to this year’s showcase.
This edition also marks a significant industry partnership, with WAVES Film Bazaar joining hands with the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF). The collaboration features the project “Gloria” in a cross-exchange initiative, bridging opportunities between film and television markets. Additionally, NFDC’s Handpicked Focused Projects—“Shamed,” “Smash,” and “Tiger in the Lion Den”—further emphasize the Bazaar’s commitment to spotlighting powerful Indian stories with international potential. As the 2025 edition approaches, WAVES Film Bazaar stands poised to strengthen global artistic exchange and champion the next wave of cinematic voices.
