In light of heightened national security following the launch of Operation Sindoor, The Viral Fever (TVF) has officially delayed the release of the second season of its beloved family comedy, Very Parivarik. Originally scheduled to premiere on YouTube beginning May 9, the show has joined a growing list of entertainment releases and events put on hold due to recent tensions between India and Pakistan.
TVF shared the update across its social media platforms, citing the importance of national sentiment and safety. “Given recent events, the release of our show Very Parivarik S2 will be rescheduled. We appreciate your patience and support,” the post read. A longer statement further expressed solidarity with the country and promised a new release date once the situation stabilizes.
Very Parivarik, directed by Vaibhav Bundhoo and written by Dishant Verma and Deeksha Choudhary, quickly became a favorite among audiences after its 2024 debut. The show humorously portrays the chaos and charm of intergenerational living, as Anish, an IT professional, and his wife Shelly, a film industry professional, adjust to having Anish’s parents move in. Season 2 introduces new dynamics, including the arrival of Anish’s ex-girlfriend, played by Srishti Shrivastava, promising more laughs and unexpected twists.
The delay follows the Indian Army’s large-scale counter-terror operation, codenamed Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the deadly April terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. As military action intensifies across the western border, cultural events and media companies are stepping back, showing their support for the armed forces and prioritizing national unity. For now, fans of Very Parivarik will have to wait a little longer to catch up with their favorite dysfunctional TV family.
