Freestyle Digital Media has dropped the trailer for I Like Movies, an intriguing coming-of-age film written and directed by Chandler Levack. The film stars Isaiah Lehtinen, Romina Dugo, Krista Bridges, Percy Hynes White, Alex Ateah, and Andy McQueen.

Set in the early 2000s in Burlington, Ontario, the story follows Lawrence Kweller (Isaiah Lehtinen), a self-absorbed and movie-obsessed teenager. Lawrence is the type of guy who makes it a point to mention a film's director when buying a ticket, showing off his dedication to cinema. With dreams of attending NYU and being mentored by renowned filmmaker Todd Solondz, Lawrence believes his future is secure—as long as he can make enough money working part-time at his local video store, Sequels, to cover tuition.

However, Lawrence faces deeper issues that his ten free video rentals each week won’t solve. His egocentrism begins to jeopardize his only real friendship with Matt Macarchuk (Percy Hynes White), his longtime buddy and co-creator of their student short film. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Lawrence's obsession with movies and his inability to connect with others serve as a way to mask his emotional pain and loneliness.

I Like Movies is slated for release on November 1, 2024, and promises to offer a poignant look at the complexities of adolescence, friendship, and the love of cinema. With its relatable characters and nostalgic setting, this film is one to watch as it explores the intersection of passion and personal struggle.
