Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood added star power to the special screening of Rocketship, a student-made film that’s already creating emotional ripples ahead of its 2025 release. The screening, held in Mumbai, saw Sonu Sood arriving in support of the film’s leading lady, Isha Koppikar, and the young crew from Whistling Woods International, where the project was born as a diploma film.
Dressed in his usual casual-cool style, Sonu posed for the cameras with grace and enthusiasm before joining Isha Koppikar, who looked radiant as she celebrated the work of a new generation of filmmakers. The duo was all smiles, sharing a few laughs on the red carpet, clearly proud of the passion project.
Rocketship, directed by Arjun Menon and produced by Harmanraai Singh Sehgal, is a heartfelt drama focusing on the unshakable bond between a mother and her daughter. Isha plays Aditi, a woman who pushes boundaries and battles hardships to help her daughter Ahana (played by Amayira Sharma) chase her dreams.
The film is a powerful tribute to everyday resilience and maternal strength, drawing emotional depth from a story that’s both personal and universally relatable. What makes Rocketship special is its origin — not from a big production house, but from the classrooms of Whistling Woods. Isha, who took on the role to support aspiring talent, emphasized her emotional connection with the project and its young creators.
With established names like Sonu Sood backing such heartfelt indie ventures, Rocketship might just be on course to soar well beyond expectations.
