Actor and co-founder of the Pro Panja League, Pravin Dabass, expressed his commitment to gender equality during the opening of the eighth edition of the Asian Arm-Wrestling Cup and the seventh edition of the Asian Para-Arm Wrestling Cup at the Aurika Hotel in Mumbai. He emphasized how the league he co-founded has successfully addressed this critical issue within the sport.

Dabass remarked, “There are very few sports in the world where athletes and para-athletes compete on the same platform. Arm wrestling is one of those unique sports.” He highlighted that the Pro Panja League stands out as one of the few leagues globally that allows men, women, and specially-abled athletes to participate together.

Discussing the league's progressive approach to gender equality, he stated, “People talk about gender equality in terms of pay. In our league, since 2020, we offer the same pay to everyone. It’s a proud feeling to know that this sport is inclusive and supports everyone.”

The vision behind the Pro Panja League was to foster a sense of community among athletes. “The journey is ongoing, and we’ve seen a significant boost in this direction,” Dabass concluded.

The event, attended by notable personalities including Preeti Jhangiani, Anupam Kher, Kiran Juneja, and Tara Sharma, showcased not just competitive spirit but also the profound impact of inclusivity in sports. As the Asian Arm-Wrestling Cup and Asian Para-Arm Wrestling Cup unfold, they highlight the importance of creating equal opportunities for all athletes, paving the way for a more equitable future in athletics.
