Director Aanand L Rai, who reunites with Dhanush after Raanjhanaa, opened up at the event about the deeply personal journey of creating this film. Speaking with visible emotion, he shared how much the film means to him:“I made this film from the heart… so watch it with your heart. When a lazy evening came in our lives, Himanshu walked in and told me a line and I thought, this is an extraordinary story.
I really enjoyed making this film. When I enjoy creating something, I never feel like ending it, but then, eventually, I see Bhushan’s face and I have to finish it.”
Rai also addressed comparisons to Raanjhanaa, clarifying that while the emotional intensity might feel familiar, Tere Ishk Mein stands on its own: “No, it’s different from Raanjhanaa. This film has the same rage, the same emotions, the same pitch that Raanjhanaa had but there are no similarities in the story. The only similarity is that my lead actor is the same. Otherwise, this is a new story—its heart is connected somewhere, but it is a new film, and you should watch it as such.”
