The bone-chilling investigative drama NCR, inspired by the horrifying Nithari killings of 2006, is now streaming on the Atrangii OTT app. The series features a stellar cast, including Prakash Belawadi as Inspector Vikram Mahaligam, Nalneesh Neel as the menacing Jaggi, and Abigail Pande as Swati Mahaligam, a journalist fighting for justice. With intense performances and a gripping narrative, NCR promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
The intense drama, required actors to read, research prepare to get into the skin of their characters. Actor Nalneesh Neel, who is best known for his work in ‘The White Tiger’, ‘Chhichhore’, ‘Fukrey Returns’ amongst others, recalled to what great lengths he had to go to prepare for his character. Nalneesh plays the character of Jaggi, who is the male helper of his boss and is party in murdering young children and then eating their raw flesh in the Noida region of the country. A series inspired by the actual life killings of young girls in Nithari, that shook the country.
Recalling a particularly intense behind-the-scenes moment, Nalneesh shared , “ There was a scene where my character kidnaps and kills a boy dressed as a girl. To make the scene feel authentic, my team used a dummy body with a silicone heart and raw goat meat. I had eaten goat meat before, but this time, the meat had been kept for 2-4 days and was obviously raw. To make the scene convincing, I had to eat the raw meat and splatter blood around my mouth. I remember washing my face and gargling repeatedly. I still can’t forget the taste and the feeling of disgust I had. But I did it willingly to portray conviction in my character. I wanted the shot to look absolutely realistic to portray the gore and unbelievable heinous act.”
NCR is now streaming on Atrangii OTT, and is being lauded for its close to reality portrayal of the horrific killings. The series with exceptional acting is making a mark with gripping and intense narrative that immerses viewers in the dark realities of crime and justice.
