At a recent press conference in New Delhi, Arjun Kapoor shared insights about his upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi, his experiences in comedy, and his future career plans.
The title Mere Husband Ki Biwi grabbed Arjun Kapoor’s attention the moment he heard it. He admitted that the title itself was one of the most exciting aspects of the film, saying, "It’s an interesting and unusual title. When I first heard it, I was drawn to it the most. In the film, Mudassar has stitched the title very well, bringing it to life in a very clever way. The inspiration came from a Marathi play."
Arjun expressed how comedy is a genre loved by all, especially when it can be enjoyed by the whole family. "Comedy is a genre that we all as audiences love to watch together. It’s a family genre, meant for family audiences. There's nothing better than making people laugh and seeing them enjoy it together," he said.
Having ventured into various genres, Arjun looks forward to doing more comedies, especially after Mere Husband Ki Biwi. He also shared his excitement about his upcoming project with Anees Bazmee, No Entry 2. “I’ve done action, rom-coms, and now I’m looking forward to working on more comedies. No Entry 2 with Anees Bazmee is something I’m really excited about.”
Arjun also reflected on his memorable role in Danger Lanka, where he had to grow his hair for the character. He explained his willingness to embrace roles that demand physical transformation. "For Danger Lanka, I grew my hair, and that role was epic. If given the opportunity to do period films or larger-than-life roles, I’d love to use my physicality for such roles. Our job is to do justice to every character we play. If a director thinks I’m right for a role, I’d definitely do it," he said, showing his versatility and commitment to exploring diverse characters.
Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh, Mere Husband Ki Biwi starring Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh is set to arrive in cinemas on February 21, 2025.
