Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 is almost here, and actor couple Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee have added a heartwarming twist to their annual tradition. This year, it’s their daughters Lianna and Divisha who got the final say in selecting the Ganpati idol—and let’s just say, the little ones didn’t hold back! Gurmeet revealed, “This has been a special year, and Ganpati Bappa is also special because this time around my daughters chose the idol.”
Debina added with a laugh, “Usually, we get the Bal Ganpati, but this time around we let the kids decide, and apparently they picked the biggest Ganpati idol!” And honestly, what could be more on-brand for toddlers with a flair for the dramatic? The family's visit to an idol shop recently went viral, with sweet clips of the girls gleefully pointing at their chosen Bappa flooding social media.
Currently charming audiences with their stint on Pati Patni Aur Panga, Gurmeet and Debina are showing that their off-screen bond is just as endearing as their on-screen chemistry. From performing rituals to dancing with the girls while welcoming Bappa home, their celebrations are full of laughter, love, and just the right dose of chaos (thanks to two energetic little decision-makers).
The couple, known for keeping their private life low-key, secretly married in 2006 but made it official in 2011. Since then, their family has grown, and so have the traditions that bring them joy—Ganesh Chaturthi being one of the most cherished. With their daughters now actively involved, the festival holds even deeper meaning.
As Ganpati Bappa settles into their home for the festivities, fans are loving every glimpse of the family’s celebration. And if Lianna and Divisha are already calling the shots, we can't wait to see what other adorable decisions they make in the years to come.
