Lionsgate and American Zoetrope have unveiled the second official trailer for Megalopolis, the highly anticipated film written and directed by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. Megalopolis is set in a New York City-like metropolis that has already begun to decay when a catastrophic accident accelerates its collapse. The film’s narrative centers on Cesar, an idealist who envisions rebuilding the city into a sustainable utopia. However, his vision is met with resistance from the corrupt mayor, Frank Cicero, who has his own plans for the city’s future. Adding complexity to the power struggle is Frank’s daughter, Julia, a socialite who is disillusioned with her privileged life and embarks on a journey to find deeper meaning.
