The King is back on his throne—well, at least back on home turf. Shah Rukh Khan, who set the Met Gala 2025 carpet ablaze with his dapper debut, has officially touched down in Mumbai, reminding everyone that you can take the man out of Bollywood, but you can’t take the Bollywood out of the man.
Spotted strutting out of the airport on Thursday evening like it was his own personal runway, SRK looked cool, collected, and a little jet-lagged—but still managed to serve style. Dressed in a crisp white tee, classic blue jeans, a black jacket, and sunnies that said “don’t even try,” he casually accessorized with a blue bag, brown belt, and squeaky-clean white sneakers. Oh, and of course, manager Pooja Dadlani in tow—his real-life Alfred to his Bruce Wayne vibes.
But let’s talk about that Met Gala look. In case you've been living under a fashion rock, Shah Rukh Khan showed up at the Gala dressed like royalty dipped in luxury. Courtesy of ace designer Sabyasachi, SRK wore a floor-length, jet-black coat crafted from Tasmanian superfine wool (yes, that’s a real thing) with Japanese horn buttons that probably cost more than our rent. He paired it with a silk shirt, tailored trousers, and a pleated satin kamarbandh—because what’s a desi look without a nod to our roots? Oh, and did we mention the cane? Not just any cane—the Bengal Tiger Head Cane, made of 18k gold and encrusted with tourmalines, sapphires, and diamonds. You know, casual.
SRK even took to X to drop some wisdom, thanking Sabyasachi and his team for making him feel at ease in a space that “isn’t his,” saying, “Style & Fashion... is just being who you are.” Cue the collective swoon from fans and fashionistas everywhere.
With fellow Indians Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani also making their Met Gala debuts this year, it’s safe to say India took over the stairs at the Met. But leave it to Shah Rukh Khan to remind the world that even among stars, there’s only one King.
