Hulu has dropped the official trailer for The Kollective, a tense new thriller series centered on the power—and peril—of independent journalism. Set to premiere on June 10, 2025, the series follows a group of young civilian reporters who launch a dangerous investigation into government corruption after the mysterious crash of a civilian aircraft leads to the death of one of their own. What begins as a quest for answers quickly escalates into a globe-spanning conspiracy that challenges everything they know about power, truth, and loyalty.
The ensemble cast includes Natascha McElhone (Designated Survivor), Céline Buckens (Showtrial), Felix Mayr, Grégory Montel (Call My Agent!), Gregg Sulkin, Martha Canga Antonio, and Gijs Blom. These characters form “The Kollective,” a decentralized network of citizen journalists who, armed with only cameras and conviction, take on dangerous regimes and corrupt systems that operate in the shadows.
Created by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli, and Femke Wolting—known for their sharp political storytelling—the series is penned by Fasoli, Ravagli, and Edward Hemming. Directors Assaf Bernstein (Fauda) and Randa Chahoud (Deutschland 89) helm the episodes, bringing a sleek, international edge to the production. The trailer hints at high-stakes chases, whistleblower paranoia, and ethical dilemmas that come with speaking truth to power.
Blending investigative drama with the urgency of a global thriller, The Kollective captures the emotional and physical toll of pursuing justice in a fractured world. As trust in traditional institutions declines and the role of citizen journalism rises, Hulu’s latest series couldn’t be more timely—or more chilling.
