Departing from Lahore in the wake of partition, the women of Heeramandi embark on a new journey—one that leads them to the glitzy realm of the Mumbai and Kolkata film industries. Despite the change in scenery, the essence of the bazaar remains unchanged, as they continue to dance and sing, now for the producers instead of the nawabs.
The announcement of Season 2 was met with jubilation and fanfare, as a flash mob of 100 dancers adorned in resplendent anarkalis and ghungroos took to the streets of Carter Road, Mumbai.
