Actor Esha Deol recently shared her thoughts on the evolving landscape of women’s empowerment, the entertainment industry, and her personal journey as an actor. In a candid conversation, Esha expressed her support for the progress women have made across various sectors, especially within the entertainment industry, and emphasized the importance of empowerment, respect, and equal opportunities.
Esha highlighted the significance of women’s empowerment, emphasizing that it brings respect, acknowledgment, and equal platforms for women to succeed. “Women empowerment is very important, and it means a lot to lots of women that there has to be empowerment, with that comes respect, acknowledgement, and giving the right platform to women,” she said. She went on to mention that the industry is evolving, and she is optimistic that it will continue to improve for women in the future.
She also shared a personal experience that moved her. “The job opportunities for women have increased tremendously, it is so nice. The other day I was in my car, at some signal, and I saw a female Swiggy rider, and when I saw her, I gave her a thumbs up, and she gave me a thumbs up back. It is so amazing to see women driving buses, rickshaws, taxis, and more. They are there, and they are doing it. And you know what is even nicer? People are letting them do it, keeping them safe, and giving them that respect,” she added.
Esha also spoke about the changing dynamics in the entertainment world. She expressed her enthusiasm for adapting to new challenges, saying, “Change is very important; I believe change is a good thing. It is up to us, how we adapt to it. I am part of it again now. I am adapting to it, nicely, it feels good, a little different.” As an audience member, she enjoys the advancements in filmmaking, with better technology and innovative storytelling techniques. "The kind of films being made now, with all that technology and effects, watching all that feels good," she said.
Esha also acknowledged the growing influence of Generation Z on cinema, admitting that she doesn't always understand their mindset. However, she expressed her appreciation for the films being made for this new generation. "A whole new and different kind of generation is going, GenZ. I don’t understand their thinking, but the kind of films being made on GenZ’s, it feels good to know what love is today,” Esha commented. She fondly recalled the love story depicted in Naa Tum Jaano Naa Hum, reflecting on the simplicity and sincerity of love that she grew up watching.
As for her future in the entertainment industry, Esha, who is passionate about her craft, expressed excitement for upcoming projects. "I am an actor, by profession and by heart, I enjoy doing it, this is something I am very passionate about,” she shared. Esha, who made a successful comeback to acting with Rudra: The Edge of Darkness alongside Ajay Devgn, is looking forward to more exciting work and collaborations. “In this medium, I am looking forward to more good work, good people who are equally interested in me, as I am interested in working,” she added.
