Vijay Varma, the talented actor known for his nuanced performances, recently charmed media during the promotional activities for his upcoming film Gustaakh Ishq – Kuch Pehle Jaisa. When asked about his first love, Varma shared a quirky childhood memory, saying, “Karachi Bakery’s Fruit Biscuit Cake, that is something I fell in love with for the first time. Instant love! I always wished somehow that I would get married into this family so I could get this cake every day as a kid.” His candid confession had everyone smiling, proving that even celebrated actors have sweet, relatable beginnings.
Moving from childhood nostalgia to his present passion, Varma was emphatic about his current “first love.” “First and foremost, love is towards my work, something that I do, I love doing it. When I read the script for the first time, it spoke to me. There’s an interesting romance between me and Fatima in the movie, but there’s another type of romance too — between me and Naseeruddin Shah. It’s not romantic in nature, but the deep, student-teacher bond is explored beautifully,” he explained.
Directed by Vibhu Virender Puri and produced by Stage5 Productions, Gustaakh Ishq stars Vijay Varma alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sharib Hashmi. The story follows Nawabuddin Saifuddin Rahman, who travels to Delhi to learn the art of poetry from the retired poet Aziz, only to fall in love with Aziz’s daughter Minni. Misunderstandings and emotional complexities create the dramatic tension that drives the narrative, promising audiences a heartwarming blend of romance and mentorship.
Scheduled for theatrical release on 28 November 2025, the film also marks the cinematic production debut of fashion icon Manish Malhotra.
