Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate have unveiled the first official trailer for H is for Hawk, a moving film based on the acclaimed memoir by Helen MacDonald.
The film stars Claire Foy, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Spruell, Josh Dylan, Lindsay Duncan, and Denise Gough.
H is for Hawk tells the story of Helen, who, after the sudden death of her father, finds herself lost in memories of their shared passion for birdwatching and exploring nature. To navigate her grief, she turns to the ancient European art of falconry, training a wild goshawk named Mabel. As Helen teaches Mabel to hunt and fly free, she gradually confronts her own neglected emotions and the life she has been avoiding, ultimately learning to heal and reclaim her own freedom.
Directed by Philippa Lowthorpe, the screenplay is co-written by Emma Donoghue and Philippa Lowthorpe, adapting MacDonald’s bestselling book for the screen.
H is for Hawk is slated for release in December 2025, promising a visually stunning and emotionally resonant journey of resilience and self-discovery.
