R Madhavan, known for his irresistible charm in romantic roles, is set to captivate audiences once again in Aap Jaisa Koi, a romantic drama that was unveiled at Netflix’s Next on Netflix event. In the series, Madhavan plays Shrirenu Tripathi, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Madhu Bose, played by Fatima. Madhavan shared his excitement about returning to the romantic genre after a long hiatus, saying, "It’s been a long time since I’ve done a romantic drama. I’ve done two or three romantic films in Hindi, but not more than that. The reason is that I was looking for an age-appropriate romance. When I got this story, I knew there wouldn’t be a better opportunity. Plus, I was getting to work with the king of romance, Dharma Productions, and with a gorgeous co-star like Fatima. I’m very grateful to be a part of this film."
In addition to Aap Jaisa Koi, Madhavan is also set to make waves in the Tamil film Test, the first look of which was also revealed at the event. When discussing his role in Test, Madhavan reflected on the complex nature of his character, sharing, "In everybody's life, there comes a moment when you know you have to be the hero. But there’s also a moment of sacrifice, when you have to be the villain. I don’t think the world always gives you a choice. You make the decision, and then you let fate decide whether it was right or wrong."
