Actress Esha Deol recently took to social media to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the acclaimed films ‘Yuva’ and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu.’ Directed by the legendary Mani Ratnam, these films, which were released in 2004, have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. In her post, Esha Deol reflects on the magic of working with Mani Ratnam, describing it as a dream come true and an immensely satisfying experience as an artist. She writes: “20 years of Yuva & Aayutha Ezhuthu. Mani sir you are magic. Working with you on both the films in Tamil & Hindi was an absolute pleasure, a dream come true & extremely satisfying as an artist to have you direct me. Both my co-stars @ajaydevgn & @actorsuriya were just perfect & wonderful to work with. I remember this was the first time I worked with AJ ( Ajay ) and how mani sir & I would talk to each other in Tamil all the time while discussing the scenes which left Ajay wondering what on earth was being said. Siriya I remember as a man of few words but once the cameras rolled we both were totally on fire in character full of life. The 3rd image I share is of the Premiere of yuva at Iifa in Singapore 22/5/2004 (the entire star cast on stage) Can’t believe it’s been 20 years of these 2 fantastic films I’m proud of being part of. Much gratitude @madrastalkies #maniratnam #madrastalkies #20yearsofyuva #20yearsofayathaezuthu #love #gratitude”

Both ‘Yuva’ and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ are celebrated for their innovative storytelling and powerful performances. They tackle themes of youth, politics, and social change, resonating with audiences across India. The dual-language approach, with ‘Yuva’ in Hindi and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ in Tamil, showcased the versatility and broad appeal of the narrative.

Esha Deol’s reflections on the 20th anniversary of ‘Yuva’ and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ serve as a testament to the lasting impact of these films. Her gratitude towards Mani Ratnam and her co-stars underscores the collaborative effort behind these cinematic masterpieces.

As fans and the film industry celebrate this milestone, the legacy of ‘Yuva’ and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ continues to inspire and influence new generations of filmmakers and audiences alike.
