Veteran actor Anupam Kher took to his social media with a heartfelt announcement that’s winning hearts across the internet — the grand reveal of Shubhangi, the debutant actress playing the lead in his upcoming directorial venture, Tanvi – The Great. The film, which has been a labour of love for over four years, is finally stepping into the spotlight, starting with the face that will define its soul — Tanvi.
In an emotional and inspiring note, Kher wrote: "ANNOUNCEMENT: MEET TANVI: The idea of making the film #TanviTheGreat came to me roughly 4 years back from a real life conversation! And it took me and our team almost three years to put it together. I was 100% sure to find #Tanvi from my acting school @actorprepares. But it was a difficult task to find TANVI! Difficult, because #Tanvi represents goodness, innocence, charm, sense of wonder, funniness and purity! Tanvi is DIFFERENT but NO LESS! It took us more than six months to find her!"
Kher goes on to describe the magical moment when he discovered Shubhangi: "One day in my master class at the school where I had asked students to shut their eyes and have total calmness on their faces, I saw #SHUBHANGI with her eyes shut and peace written all over face. Later she told us that she was actually in a dreamworld which was her security blanket. I will leave all the details for later. But today my dearest #Shubhangi you will meet the world. The world of your dreams. But always carry the qualities of TANVI with you. She will keep you real and grounded!"
In true mentor spirit, Kher left his new leading lady with words of encouragement: "So work hard, be honest, be real and be yourself. It will be personally for me and for the school the happiest day when world starts referring to you as #ShubhangiTheGreat. All my love and blessings! The world will decide about the film when they watch it. But for your director let me announce today that in #TanviTheGreat you are MAGICAL! Jai Ho!"
Tanvi – The Great is directed by Anupam Kher and produced by Anupam Kher Studio in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). With Oscar-winner M. M. Keeravani composing the music, the film also stars international talent Iain Glen. The project promises to be a stirring tale wrapped in warmth, wonder, and sheer cinematic magic.
