Wednesday evening in Mumbai saw the entertainment capital come to a glittering standstill as the red carpet rolled out for the grand premiere of Aryan Khan’s highly-anticipated directorial debut, The Bads of Bollywood. Hosted at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), the event wasn’t just a series launch — it was a celebration of legacy, new beginnings, and sheer star power.

Leading the guest list were the Ambanis, arriving in peak style. Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Akash and Shloka Ambani, Isha Ambani, and Radhika Merchant made a dazzling entrance, dressed in elegantly coordinated ensembles. Their presence added gravitas to the occasion, underlining the cultural and personal ties between India’s most prominent business family and the Khan clan.

Of course, the spotlight eventually fell on the Khan family themselves. Shah Rukh Khan, oozing classic charm, arrived with Gauri, Aryan, Suhana, and little AbRam in tow. In a rare moment, SRK posed graciously for the media, while Aryan — usually camera-shy — was seen capturing the moment on his phone, a subtle but heartwarming father-son dynamic that didn’t go unnoticed.

The event also saw Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt set the couple-style bar high with matching white fits — Alia in a dreamy strappy gown and Ranbir in a blazer-and-shirt combo that screamed minimalism meets statement. Bobby Deol, who plays a key role in the series, arrived with his wife Tanya Deol and son Aryaman, while old friends and collaborators of the Khans — Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, and Manish Malhotra — all turned up in full support.

In terms of red-carpet power, this event was unmatched. The guest list read like the IMDb of Bollywood: Madhuri Dixit and Dr. Shriram Nene, Tamannaah Bhatia, Chunky and Bhavana Panday, Sussanne Khan, Arslan Goni, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Farhan Akhtar, Mira Rajput, Jackky Bhagnani, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Khushi Kapoor, Raja Kumari, Vijay Varma, Zoya Akhtar, Rajkumar Hirani, and many more brought the full force of fashion, fandom, and flair.

The series’ cast — Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Rajat Bedi, and others — joined director Aryan Khan for a celebratory group photo that marked a milestone moment for all involved. Earlier, Karan Johar posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, praising Aryan’s dedication over the last two years. Farah Khan, too, called Aryan the “kindest, sweetest, most hardworking director” she’s ever choreographed for — a rare compliment in the industry.

The series itself — a seven-episode satire set in the cutthroat world of Bollywood — follows Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya), a determined newcomer whose ambition clashes with power structures, ego wars, and dark industry secrets. As teased in the trailer, he locks horns with fading superstar Ajay Talvar (Bobby Deol) after being cast opposite Talvar’s daughter Karishma (Sahher Bambba). The story dives into fame, media manipulation, underworld rumours, and the blurred lines between truth and performance — all captured with Aryan Khan’s biting lens and sharp narrative style.

Produced under Red Chillies Entertainment and now streaming on Netflix (from September 18), The Ba**ds of Bollywood* isn't just a show — it's a statement. And judging by the premiere’s unmatched energy, Aryan Khan’s first step into direction isn’t just being noticed — it’s being celebrated.
