Two Duke men's basketball players face charges stemming from an arrest for suspected driving while impaired Sunday morning.
The two players involved are Michael Savarino, grandson of coach Mike Krzyzewski, and star freshman Paolo Banchero. Savarino was charged with DWI, driving after c Colorado Buffaloes clothes onsuming alcohol under the age of 21 and a stop sign violation. The incident was first reported by the The (Raleigh) News & Observer on Tuesday.
According to reports, Savarino was stopped for a stop sign violation at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday morning and showed signs of impairment. After submitting to a breathalyzer, Savarino had a UNC vs. Duke Rivalry Gear blood alcohol level of .08.
