Peacock has released the first official trailer for its upcoming crime thriller series M I A, and it is already turning heads for its bold mix of neon soaked visuals, revenge drama, and gritty underworld storytelling. Set in the sun drenched yet dangerous streets of South Florida, the series follows a young woman’s transformation from grieving daughter to rising crime queenpin in a world where loyalty is rare and survival is everything.
At the center of the story is Etta Tiger Jonze, played by newcomer Shannon Gisela, a character whose life is shattered when her family’s drug operation collapses in brutal tragedy. What begins as grief quickly turns into a violent mission of revenge as Etta navigates Miami’s neon lit criminal underworld. The trailer teases a striking visual contrast between the glittering fantasy of Miami and its dark, blood stained reality, setting the tone for a classic rise and fall crime epic.
The ensemble cast adds serious weight to the series, featuring Cary Elwes alongside Wynn Everett, Tracey Reynolds, Chabely Ponce, Dawn Noel, Alyssa Jirrels, and Ilana Kohanchi. Each character appears to play a role in Etta’s dangerous evolution as she builds her own empire while taking down those responsible for her family’s destruction. The trailer hints at shifting alliances, betrayal, and a relentless climb toward power that blurs every moral line.
Created by Bill Dubuque and showrun by Karen Campbell, M I A is shaped by a strong directorial lineup including Mairzee Almas, John Dahl, Alethea Jones, Gwyneth Horder Payton, and Ben Semanoff. With its focus on crime, ambition, and identity, the series promises a high tension narrative that tracks one woman’s transformation into a feared criminal force. Set to arrive on May seven, 2026, the trailer leaves one question hanging in the air what would you become if you had nothing left to lose.
