Musical romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein has struck gold at the box office, surpassing the Rs 50.95 crore (Hindi) mark within its first three days. Sunday saw a significant surge in audience footfalls, contributing a strong Rs 19.32 crore nett on Day 3, cementing the film’s place as a major commercial success.
Directed by Aanand L. Rai, with a screenplay by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, Tere Ishk Mein serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2013 hit Raanjhanaa. The film stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon as Shankar and Mukti, charting a love story that begins during her PhD research on him, only to be disrupted when Mukti moves on. Years later, their unresolved past resurfaces as Shankar, now in the Indian Air Force, crosses paths with her once again.
Produced by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films, the film boasts music composed by Oscar-winning A. R. Rahman, cinematography by Tushar Kanti Ray, and editing by Hemal Kothari. The soundtrack, infused with Rahman’s signature melodies, has played a key role in amplifying audience engagement and adding emotional depth to the narrative.
Released theatrically on 28 November 2025, Tere Ishk Mein also premiered at the Gala section of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, further elevating its visibility and critical appreciation. The film’s strong start underscores Aanand L. Rai’s knack for blending heartfelt romance with musical storytelling that resonates across audiences.
With early numbers surpassing Rs 50 crore and positive word-of-mouth spreading rapidly, Tere Ishk Mein is poised to continue its box office momentum, reaffirming the enduring appeal of its lead pair and Rahman’s timeless music.
